Building Remodel Update
In early 2025, we launched our building remodel. This multi-year and multi-dollar project will help us better serve the community with dignity, compassion, and respect. This project would not be possible without donor financial support and in-kind contributions of our community partners. We appreciate everyone who has helped us get this far! Our Plans For The Building:
Phase 1 & 2 Completed in 2025
In 2025, we added a high capacity electrical panel, installed central heating and cooling, opened up walls to improve flow, enlarged hallways to move pallets more efficiently, built a freight ramp, and refreshed the entire basement. This included the demolition of our executive director’s office and the bread storage room, making space for a walk-in freezer and refrigerator. These additions are already helping us better preserve the quality of food for the people we serve. Phase 2 of the remodel included interior wiring to accommodate new refrigeration, eliminate out of date fuse boxes, new janitorial space with a commercial sink, and sound insulation to block pantry noise from the church. We continued to serve the public throughout this construction, serving over 45,000 people in 2025.
Phase 3 Starts in 2026!
Phase 3 will focus on creating dedicated administrative and volunteer spaces, including a meeting and training room, a volunteer break room, and administrative offices. In May 2026, we installed high speed internet at the pantry! These are things we’ve never had before, and they will help us better support the people who make this work possible every day.
